On 09 July, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Rinderle-Ma delivered an insightful presentation on “Conversational Process Modeling: Closing the Transformation Loop” as part of the ongoing IUC Applied Research Talks. Co-hosted with the Predictive Town Hall Meetings, the event took place at the Auditorium of the newly opened SAP Labs Munich Campus and was accessible for SAP employees and TUM experts on-site and virtually.
As part of our joint SAP@TUM research project with Signavio, the talk focused on the role of Generative AI approaches, particularly Large Language Models, in business process modeling and discovery. Prof. Dr. Rinderle-Ma highlighted how these AI techniques empower domain experts to create and refine process models through conversational interactions with chatbots. The close involvement of domain experts is expected to lead to reduced modeling times and improved model quality, particularly in terms of validity.
Participants from SAP and TUM engaged in a dynamic discussion, exploring the potential of conversational process modeling in various application domains. The event successfully combined academic insights with practical applications, offering valuable takeaways for all attendees.
