SAP supported the collaborative teaching project of Technical University Munich (TUM) and the University of Applied Sciences Munich (HM) called 'sustAInability.' with a challenge provided by our colleague Carina Legl. This innovative initiative aimed to delve into the intersection of sustainability and artificial intelligence (AI) from an interdisciplinary perspective, fostering innovative approaches across universities and disciplines. The project emphasized the ecological, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability while considering the potentials, challenges, and risks associated with AI-based systems. By creating an innovative teaching and learning space, students from various disciplines are encouraged to critically reflect on sustainability and AI. A team of students worked on the SAP challenge, and dedicated five intense days, immersing themselves in SAP technologies while gaining profound knowledge in circular economy, the fashion industry and its challenges, business models, AI, Digital Twin, Blockchain, and Digital Product Passport.
On 25th of June 2023, the TUM Think Tank hosted a pitch night, where the student team working on the SAP challenge and other students from TUM and other universities presented their solution ideas. The event was supported by our colleagues Carina Legl, Miguel Valenzuela, and Ton van der Greef. The evening witnessed high-energy presentations and a plethora of valuable ideas on improving sustainability.
